- newspapers
- white paper or construction paper
- food coloring
- plastic drinking straw
Directions:
Cover a work space with newspapers.
Place white paper on the center of newspapers.
Put a large drop of food coloring in the center of the white paper.
Holding one end of the straw above the drop of food coloring, blow through the other end of the straw.
How hard you blow determines how far and how fast the drop of coloring moves.
After blowing the 1st drop of coloring as far you want, do the same with additional drops of color.
Vegetable Printing

Directons:
Cut various fruit and vegetables in half, allowing to dry on paper towels for at least an hour (also depends on the fruit/vegetable).
Cover work table with old newspaper.
Brush paint along the cut edge of fruit or vegetable.
Print design on water color paper.
Cover with clear adhesive backed vinyl for a placement.
Print on 100% cotton fabric and heat set by ironing face down on paper towels.
Sandwich the cotton fabric sit batting and a backing to make a pot holder.
Stitch around design, stitching through all three layers.
Make pictures, landscapes, designs, etc.
Also makes wonderful presents if you frame them.

Effervescent Bath Salts
- 9 tbsp. soda
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 7 1/2 tbsp. citric acid powder
- 4 to 6 drops cologne
Directions:
Mix soda, cornstarch and citric acid in bowl.
Add cologne and mix thoroughly.
Store in clean air-tight container.
Use approx. 2 tablespoons mixture per bath.

- 2 cups dishwashing detergent (works best with Joy)
- 6 cups water
- 3/4 cup Karo light corn syrup
Directions:
Mix together, shake well.
Pour into flat pan if using large bubble wand.

Paintbrush Cookies
- 3/4 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
In a seperate bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt.
Combine, stir together and let chill for 1 hour.
Roll out 1/8 inch thick.
Cut in desired shapes with cookie cutters.
Place on ungreased baking sheets.
Paint with egg yolk paint.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake 6 to 8 minutes.
Egg Yolk Paint:
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 tsp. water
- food coloring
Directions:
Mix egg yolk and water and add food coloring.
Paint designs on cookies with paint brush.
If paint thickens, add few drops of water.
